GraLaw 0 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 Hi all, just got my first VR6. It's a 1995 M reg. I have bought this car knowing it's got problems and the work starts tomorrow! The main reason for my post is advice. I have friends at VW but that doesn't mean good discount parts. If anyone can help me source any parts I would be grateful. I live in southeast London. Problems are....... Air flow sensor Leak from the radiator, at the top. One of my friends told me to use rad-weld. I have never used it before, does it work? Many thanks and by the way, I've just given up a mk4 1.8 turbo for this car, so so worth it!! Link to post Share on other sites

Have a look through the market place for anyone breaking a car with a suitable MAF.I've used Rad-weld on lesser cars and it can/does/did work but everyone will roll their eyes when you suggest using it on a VR. thegoth 5 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 being an M reg yours is on the cusp of the OBD1/OBD2 changeover so you'll need to check to see if you have a four pin or six pin maf. the four pin are way cheaper Link to post Share on other sites

Still havn't got a new rad but it's a slow leak and the car is not over heating. Problem is my heaters no longer work!! I've found some old threads but no one has said anything that could help me.
