alivr6 0
neuspeeds are the daddy, but you can always go b&m which will set back around £130 odd. what a hell of a difference it makes....totally transforms the gear change and also gives that race car feel.takes a bit getting used to but one mod that needs to be done imo. acf8181 0
does the b&m modify the actual gearstick, or does it go on the gearbox selector rod? any pics of it?
Eat this 2
i bought a momo gear knob it sits MUCH further down the shaft shortens the throw very nicely
acf8181 0
but further from the wheel, which ain't good.
Eat this 2
thats a good point iv got arms like a gorilla and i have to shift my seat forwards so my legs stick up at comic angles btw y dont u use a transit van gear stick lol
speedo 0
Yer, don`t cut the rod as it has a real harsh affect. The BnM kit is a modified gearstick, which seams to be heavier making it feel realy solid and clunk in to gear. And it`s made shorter by pivoting in a slightly different poss. Really easy Si... You`ll do it in under an hour
acf8181 0
i would lengthen the gearstick, but then i'd have a even longer throw. its about the max height now considering the already long throw, but shorten the throw and the height could be increased.
speedo 0
I dont know why the VR is so long. If you drive a gti mk3, 8v ( i know it`s rod change) but it feels soooo much better
acf8181 0
its all mkIII cable change (02a) boxes i think, 8v has 020 but i wouldn't say its short shifting. i've yet to drive a vw with a nice gearchange as well, seems vw can't make good boxes.

mark@vagworx 0
Yep, it's definately a neuspeed kit and it was £100 + VAT, got the invoice indoors!
SankysVR6 1
how hard are they to fit, anybody got set of instructions
Desire68 0
Olly K,Minty, check that your shortshift kit is for a Mk3 VR6 and not an 8v as the price that you paid would sugest that it's for an 8v.I've just ordered the kit and the VR6 part No is much more expencive!Mike.
