sadken 0
Hi there. I have just purchased 4 Infinity 62.9i's and a decent Kenwood Amp to power them.I am going to route the RCA's down the passenger side as there seems less mechanics and more room down that side. And the power cable down the driver side with driver side speaker wire needing to run to the amp in the boot.I have managed to remove the plastic rails but the pillar in the middle where the seatbelt is, how do I remove this?I need to route the rear door speaker down through this to the boot. And RE the power wire, how difficult is it to route this behind the HU and out through the firewall? In the past I have ran everything down the passenger side as the firewall is on that side as is the battery, making life a lot easier! Thanks for any help.Any advice would be appreciated. CALICO 130
There is a blanking plate behind the nearside suspension turret in the front of the car to run your power cable through its easier and safer to run power cable straight down the nearside, run RCA with either the power cable or speaker cable. run speaker cable down offside. The pillar trim clips on over the top of the rubbers so should just require peeling of one side IE rear door then push to get of front door Hope this helps . I have an ECU type box under my rear seat do not use the earth point of this for your amp as it can create interference
legvw 0
That ecu type box is the ABS ecu mate, an yeah can cause interferance.
sadken 0
Thanks for the replies guys. I currently have a power cable running through the firewall and an RCA ready for a sub install as I have just got rid of my last one.The reason I was going to route the cables down different sides is because of interference...would this be a problem?I will be running three sets of RCA, 2 power cables (for the sub amp and the speaker amp) and the remote turn on wire AND all the speaker wire for the passenger side speakers...isn't this a bit too much down one side?Ta for any help. sadken 0
RE the grounding point, found a good point under the boot carpet last time I had a sub installed and it was fine.
