djmorgz 0
hey all soz but this is gonna be a long post loli recently had oil dripping from the inspection plate on the gearbox which i pressume made my clutch start to slip so ive just put new clutch in i didnt put a vag clutch in i put a valeo one in the old one was petty nackered and replaced the crank seal as i thought that was the cause of the oil leak but noticed that the sump gasket is weeping all around. i didnt change it at this time. put it back 2gether and the first hour of driving was fine and then under hard acceleration when the revs really pick up it has started slipping again stopped and had a look underneath and bugger me its dripping oil from the same place am really getting fed up of this car now. it stops dripping when the engines cold. what do u lot think ......maybe i didnt get the seal back in properly or im clutching at straws here but maybe the sump gasket leaking is getting into the bellhousing. ive removed the insprction plate and cant see oil on the flywheel....stumped as i really dont want to get the gearbox off again lolcheers dj
legvw 0
Why don't you change the sump gasket an see if that cures your leek? There cheap enough, not too bad to do, might be worth a shot?
