installing boost gauge in vr6 charged

Recommended Posts

Boost gauges used to read -30 inHg - 0 - 30 psi, but these days they read -30psi to 0 etc which is meaningless. VR6s usually idle at around -18 inHg.

Yep, it will go past 0 into boost when you drive it, but where it's sitting at idle sounds OK to me.

the little vacum hose goin from the manifold to the fpr mate T it in there

Ive just changed that, for some reason it was ballsing up allsorts, it was running very rich, so down on power, idling very rough and the dial needle was all over the place. Must have been a small air leak, but I couldnt find it?

Ended up Ting it from the brake booster nipple and all is fine now and faster than I ever remember

I also swapped all the jubilee clips for Mikalors, which also made a big difference
