Drivers door won't open - help!

Hi,

I'm totaly stuck i can't open my drivers side door (3 door) from the inside or outside.

The pin moves up and down but the handles feel as though the door is still locked any ideas please?

Outside handle and inside door release won't open the door.

Spent ages today trying to figure it out to no avail.

Any advice and or pictures on how to get it open?

My 2p worth.. I had this happen to me on an early Passat... and this worked for me..

As you can get in from the other side then you will have to recline the seats and pop the interior panel off.

Take your time and no shouting at it. That will only make you damage the panel.

Then you should be able to see the mechanical links through the openings.

Hopefully a few scraped knuckles later and you'll be open.

Otherwise. The weather is good (here at least) use your key in the lock and allow the windows to open fully and do a dukes of hazard...
