SimonABT 0
My previous Mk2 VR6 developed a hunting problem and would randomly start misfiring (running on approx 2 cylinders). Then If you give it a bootlful and play with the throttle it used to clear itself.Anyway i ended fitting this engine into another Mk2 before fixing the problem. The new Mk2 VR6 ran fine up until recently it has started to develop the exact misfire again. The misfire only happens about 1 minute after the car is started from warm... it Never does it from cold. The engine will start to hunt, revs drop and the car misfires trying to stall, it always picks itself back up though and idles fine for about a second before playing up again until it eventually clears itself.I have replaced- Ignition Coil- Ignition Leads- Spark Plugs- Both Temp sensorsThere are no Faults on VAGCOMI am starting to pull my hair out now!!Anybody got any suggestions?? Maybe an injector is blocked or damaged??One more thing i might add is the exhaust manifold is blowing, would this be enough to upset the Lambda probe and cause the misfiring?? SimonABT 0
Ok, last night the car started misfiring again so whilst it was doing it i unplugged the Lamda and the car picked itself up and ran smooth. Did this aa few times just to double check it was this causing the fault. So i drove the car a few miles with lamda unplugged and the car ran sweet as a nut, infact it ran perfectly!! Surely it should run like a sack of shite with this unplugged???
