No.2 cylinder off VRT - getting spark and fuel...compression issue??

Got my engine up and running for the first today. On initial startup it spluttered for a bit as expected until fuel got up then it started revving flat out. After a couple more tries it ran as normal only off a cylinder, or so I thought.......

- Checked to see if I had spark, that was ok. Also swapped leads and checked at both ends of lead.

- Removed fuel rail and all injectors are spraying evenly.

- Changed the plug in that particular cylinder and made no difference.

- Going to try a compression test tommorrow to see if the compression in that cylinder is the same as the rest

- There is a chance it's clipped a valve in that cylinder as the timing was out by one or two teeth previous to me changing the timing chains and fitting the turbo setup..

Anyone any other ideas or had similar experiences?

relevant specs on the car are as follows;

- 440cc green top injectors

- Precision T3/T4 turbo

- C2UK 4" Maf and software

- 2.8 AAA OBD2

- NGK BKR7E plugs (high burn jobbies) gapped to 0.024"

- 3mm decompression plate

- ARP head bolts

Sorry to go slightly off your question but your set up is almost the same as mine and i have the same plugs but unsure of what gap to put them at as mine is not burning the fuel in the higher gears, is your gap selection a good one would you say? 0.024'' is extremley close, would you say its a safe gap?? and sorry again for going off subject, hope you sort the problem out mate

No probs mate, mine are actually set to 0.022 as advised by C2UK.

did u check the compressions b4 u turboed it ??? where they all good ???

Stupidly I didn't!!

Just done the compression test. Results are as follows:

2 - 0

4 - 148

6 - 151

1 - 140

3 - 130

5 - 132

That would explain it then! Head off to see what's wrong now, have to be at a show in a fortnight and have the rest of the car to finish! |-) I hope it's a top end problem, ie a valve and not a piston ring. What's the likelyhood percentagewise?

i reckon exhaust valve, can you check to see if petrol is coming out the back or atleast a strong smell of? if it was inlet i would expect the gases to be blowing back through the manifold, if the fuel is not burning i would expect it to be chucking it out the back
