kobi 0
Chaps, i awoke this morning like usual, drove 30 seconds from my house and saw like i do every morning a Black MK2 16 valver. This particular valver is owned by a RAF General, ex fighter pilot who's about 50 years old.Needless to say his MK2 WAS in excellent order thru' out. I so badly wanted to buy his car and often thought about leaving a message on his windscreen to find out if he wanted to sell it.This morning i noticed his motor was in the middle of the road.. as i got closer i realised his car was missing the set of MIM alloys that he'd had on the car since god knows how long and that the car was resting on the street on.... well i guess the springs and bottom of the car chassis.Overnight some Gypsy bastards had jacked up his car and taken off the wheels and dropped the car on the road.I so badly wanted to buy his car and often thought about leaving a message on his windscreen to find out if he wanted to sell it. Now when i come back from work, its totally disappeared, i'm going to knock on his door tomorrow to find out what happened. If any of you come across any Mim wheels (they were a multi spoke type) for sale on EBAY or on any VW sites please let me know..email on ksgrewal@resinexpress.comI have my baseball bat waiting ~[ Edited ]
acf8181 0
that sucks...i've been there, except my car went from being in a locked garage, with locking nuts, and a clifford alarm to being outside the garage on paint tins with not a beep from the alarm. dubloke 4
at the end of the day, its always a great shame, but if somebody wants it bad enough, they will take it whatever preventative measures are taken. i have gone to great lengths to ensure my cars stay with me, but if someone steals one ,then fair play, you deserve to have pissed me off! the thing that always concerned me is, if you're a mobile alarm fitter, you also have the ability to get round them, and surely there's a fair bit of dosh to be made in that side if need be! ~[ Edited Thu Nov 18 2004, 07:08AM ]
Nerih 0
problem is your KNOW the locking wheel nuts are going to be somwhere in the car....becuase if you get a puncture ur gonna need em.Best thing to do is to hide them in a sill or something haha. even better take off a speaker and stuck the nuts in the door . antera309 3
I doubt that lack of a key for the locking nuts would have made much difference. Locking wheel nuts are so easy to remove just by forcing an undersized socket onto them with a hammer...
