Ben Seabrook 4
Another top weekend away with the VR6OC - started slowly well 60mph as Anna trundled along the motorway to pick up Nige originally planning to get to the Pod for around 5 due to bad traffic etc we finally made it there at around 7ish. Luckily the gate was still manned and we were allowed in - the campsite was not what you would call busy but we set about making it comfy for the night.Danny Allen stopped by to enquire if more of us were arriving and we promised him ( fingers crossed ) that the stand would be filled. Then Nige, Anna and I settled in for some drinks, dinner a lovely fire and plenty of chat followed by a gorgeous sunset ( artistic pics to follow Tony and Craig )The next morning we were woken early be a chorus of crows :@ followed by a chorus of horsepower as we had camped right next to the entry road !! After getting up the site of Roger and Richard arriving closely followed by Chris in his neighbours lovely mk2 meant at least we would not be alone on the stand little did we know that by the time Anna and I had cleaned our cars ( yes yes I know I cleaned it again !! ) and made our way around to the stand there was around 8 cars already there - with Golfrabbit, Kelstar ,UKG Grant, VDub_Steve and several others already there :)then with the addition of the MK2VR6 boys we had the biggest club stand at the show :) well chuffed. The afternoon was spent watching Richard and golfrabbit go up the strip and the top fuel dragstar and the fireforce car - both top events for the newbies to the Pod. Apart from that it was a relatively quiet afternoon with only about 70 cars registered on the strip - Rusty Dan and Abbi seemed to be going round almost continuously So I fine afternoon was spend watching some nice cars up the strip, the white mk1 Dan running 10.18 was a highlight and then to top it all off Anna won a show and shine award :)again a great trurnout for the VR6OC very nice to meet some new faces and to catch up with a few old ones as well :) many thanks to all of you who turned up to support the club and Richard glad we managed to help with your birthday celebrations mate few shots for you and plenty of thumbnails below if you want more peeps :)

thegoth 5
top day' date=' shame i couldnt make it[/quote']you'd have loved it. Only 100 cars signed on all day. And unlike Spring fest when, there was nearer 300, there where only a few , short, complete closures and single lane times. Even the rain came just as it was about to close for lunch. Gutted I couldn't go in mine, it would have been a top test of DLea's handywork.
golfrabbit33 0
what times dfid evryone get that run up the pod ??top day' date=' shame i couldnt make it[/quote']60ft -2.42 330ft - 6.07 1/8 - 8.91 et 13.272 @ 112.51 USING 365 BHP (medium boost setting) dropping oil every where (sorry, i closed the left lane for 10 mins as my oasis bottle oil catcher overfilled) and was so keen to run that i forgot to deflate tyres and ran them at 38 psi so maybe that magic 12 second run is possible. still no grip in first and second but 3rd really hooked up and 4th too. golfrabbit33 0
Ben, top job with the camera . that you nearly dropped when trying to pick up too many crazy udder shakes. lol.was great to meet you and the other chaps too.lots of very tatsy cars and 2 min ques for the strip. and lots of sunshine. sort of took the sting out of getting to the gate at 4am (after a pipe split and emptied all water on my first attempt at the journey) thinking i could just tell the gate man i was camping with the vr6oc.. when in reality there was no one there no lights, just a locked gate, which was made worse by the staff member who arrive about 7.30 just walked up to the gate, pushed it open and drove through. oh bother , i said or something similar . (you can imagine what i called him) lol . so i went back to sleep, and woke again to lots of engine sounds, only to find the gates open and every one driving in . double bother, where the words i said , yeh right. LOL but a really good day in the end

My front end is also riding higher (on standard shocks) than the rear ( which rides on vw gas shocks ) so I guess there's room for improvement I'll defo be back to if you fancy a head to head, what mods you got done btw ?? Abi 0
cool pictures... was good to catch up with you Ben.... Track time was amazing... can't believe how many people weren't on it.... It was a shame the car kept getting too hot to run, otherwise i wouldn't have stopped... however i did suffer with traction... my times were a bit slower than normal... best time was 15.
