Good thread hun, inspiring me to get my chains done. Especially after seeing that guide and hearing Tonys comments while he fitted my cams.

Gotta say i have the same idea, while the engines out clean the bay! At least then i'd be able to get at it properly and will save all the skin on the Brandons hands lol!

Tony i think you need to move more north, you're currently too far away for me to abuse your wealth of knowledge!

Wow nice VR Nat, looks tidy. Where do these deep chin spoilers come from? Are they a standard item on some VRs? I see a lot of them in pics here, although I'm quite fond of the dinky little 'CL looking splitter I seem to have, and you had in the original picture.

Thanks for your comment Jim, Im very happy with him thanks.

yeah some VRs as standard came with that splitter, but i got mine off Ebay for 23 delivered, and they're a 5min job to put on.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK3-3-GTI-Vento-VR6-Deep-Bumper-Spoiler-Lip-16V_W0QQitemZ400057844341QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5d254e4275&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 thats the guy i got mine from, must say the clips were a little loose so i had to pad them out, but its been fine ever since and ive had no problems with it.... :) :) :)

You wont learn unless you have a go mate. Now ive seen Tony change a head gasket on mine its actually quite easy to do things. Only diiference really from what I saw Tony do to mine is gearbox never came off and thats easy enough just tricky

Sorry to eat up your thread Nat lol I did a head gasket with info downloaded off this site, just read up well took my time 3 days lol but most of that was broken socket pieces on the head bolts. But I did it and ssaved myself a fortune. There is a tapping from my new one, think it could be the guide rails and tensioners.

Ok so i get asked about my paint a lot, so i thought ill show you the difference between the day i brought him home to now...

This is all down to hard work and good products, i have done no spraying and the pics that were before was when he had just been cleaned by the garage i brought it from and then driven 35 miles in the dry!! He still looked filthy. lol. :) :)
