russj249 2
Hi everyone, haven't been on for a while..While I've been away, I have had a few things done.. new air filter and 6 branch manifold and new exhaust..it was running 180bhp before i did anything to it.now with de-cat, wrapped manifold, new exhaust and cone air filter, what power do you think I should expect, and most of all. Will it be more beneficial to have it remapped?I know storm and a few others can do the re-maps, so just want an idea of cost, and estimated BHP increase on a standard car.Cheers
craggsy 91
I dont think you need a remap with them mods myself. What year car is it by the way
goonersteve 0
Not really going to gain much from a re-map with just those mods. It will help a little bit, with a slight increase in bhp and make it slightly more economical on fuel i guess. But prob not worth the price you would pay to have it done. russj249 2
It's a 95 on OBD2 diagnostics but OBD1 engine and trim. So right on the border. Also how much better on fuel will it make it? it was good on fuel but now getting about 15 to the gallon since it's been done.
rodney 17
well the MAF and Lambda should allow for the change in flows and run within the preset zones. You can get it mapped but you will not get much more out of it. That said keep an eye on your exhaust pipe on a run and it should be nice and clean.l If it carbons up then you may need to look at sensors and then a remap may be worth while especially if you are running a dizzy as they tend not to adjust just quite as well .... russj249 2
it is running coil, but the exhaust is pretty carbon'd up. shall i try new lambda sensor as i've got a spare brand new one at home.
matty.vrt 120
Try adding some 268 cams then get it mapped you will see a far better result.
russj249 2
how much would it be then for cams and a remap? just a rough price.. money's a bit tight after buying moto x bike
matty.vrt 120
i payed £250 posted for some drc 268 cams but that was when the exchange rate was £1 for $2 and had it re maped some where local for £
rodney 17
keep your eyes open there are group buys always popping up for the cams. Also slightly used pop up fairly regulalrly...You shpould allow £350-£400 for a remap.
