VR6Pete 1,455
Schimmel are worth looking into also
FishWick 21
Strictly dubs import Schimmel stuff and could probably get the DRC 264s for you....
Antihero1981 8
yeah they do them as thats where i get mine from.....much cheaper than shimmerl or shrick.....
aaronmk2 3
ive been thinking bout cams for my na vr ive heard good things about drc 268 but also schimmel 263 are supposed to be good with a na vr which ones would be best to go for,and what sort of prices
Kelster 0
If you are think of FI in the future then go 263. If you are staying NA then I think you would get more from the 268s
Antihero1981 8
i agree with kelster.....263 ,you can run them even if your not going FI
rusty dan 1
what advantage of the 263 over 268 running FI?
rodney 17
it works better as you have to retard when you FI. some people even go as far back as 248s on FI..
aaronmk2 3
what sort of power can be seen from the 263 on a na vr after a remap
rusty dan 1
i believe the ECU retards the timing for you up to a certain amount of FI? Is this correct?
Antihero1981 8
you dont get that much 10-15bhp but the torque is better positioned....i would not get a remap until all mods are done or you sure you nbot going fi....otherwise its expensive getting mapped all the time
FishWick 21
We've seen a few standard Corrado VR6s kick out over 20hp from Schimmel's 263 cams and a remap.268s per se aren't bad for forced induction, it depends on the overlap. 268s tend to have a fair bit of overlap but that can actually help spool up. Providing the profiles aren't ridiculous and allow unburned boost to blow out of the exhaust valves, you can use what ever cams you like.
