Paul Allen 0
Hi peepsI have 8 x 17" Oz Super t'sI have had to put spacers on the back to stop them from catching on the coilovers. Is this normal when you have 8" wide wheels? or could it be that the wheels are the wrong offset( the wheels were on the car when i bought it so i have no info)Any ideas!!!!? mark@vagworx 0
8" rims are doable....depending on your tyre choice. Ideally you've got to go for a 205/40/17 otherwise you'll have problems with rubbing and the rims catching the arches.Have the arches on your car been rolled at all?Could be that your rims are slightly the wrong offset, but if you've got no problems since running spacers then i wouldn't worry. Are you using hubcentric spacers, ie spacers that slot over the hub for extra stability?? These are a must if your using spacers.....not the usual halfords jobbies...heard some horror stories about them, and rims coming off!
Geastb 0
where do you get hubcentric spacers? I've got 6mm halfords jobbies on mine &| I also need to get the plastic rings that go inside the hubs on the wheels (iykwim) anyone know where i can get these too?
mark@vagworx 0
I think FK do hubcentric spacers. You could try Demon Tweeks etc.For the plastic hub locators on your rims....try and contact the manufacturer, but if you don't get any joy try Demon Tweeks again. I managed to get some for a previous car from my local modified/car parts place.Hope this helps.
Paul Allen 0
On my wheels i am running 215/40 as R - Tec said that they could'nt strech 205 over the wheel!!?.I am using the crap Halfords spacers which is now worrying .I have had the arches rolled but the wheel only caught on the inside of the coilover.I have booked the car into Stealth next weekso i will get them to check. Thanks for your help Minty
mark@vagworx 0
You can get a 205/40 over an 8" rim, bit of a squeeze, but it can be done.Try and sort yourself some hubcentric spacers if you can.....they're not cheap, about £100 for a pair, but much, much safer in the long run. Oh, and depending on how thick the spacer is, then it's also a good idea to get slightly longer wheel bolts No probs, hope you get it sorted.

bazz780 0
yikes i aint got hubcentric spacers on my car either!!now look what you've done lol, i was told they are better but apparently i only need 5mm spacers and you dont get hubcentric in 5mm, or do you?? mark@vagworx 0
Not sure on spacer width, best bet, contact FK.
eViL 0
Yes you do. They don't need to be Hubcentric. 3mm spacers are fine, and don't forget you can adjust the position of the wheels slightly too.. (don't ask me how though..)
six appeal 53
I run 215/40/17 Toyo's ( the tyre make can make a hell of a difference!) on my 8x17 RH's with an ET35. Mine clear the coilovers both front and rear, even when they are on max drop! (which is the only way to run it, lol!)

six appeal 53
LOL! No mate, to run mine as low as it is, I have had to take the plastic inners out of the arch and have the arches modded slightky with my good friend Mr. Angle grinder! (Ps. don't do this on the rears!)
