Tiny12 0
I have been offered a set of rims which are 17x7, and some one else has offered me a set tyres which are 195x17x45 the guy offering me the tyres recons that they will go on ok with a "nice" stretch, but not a “silly stretchâ€â€¦is this true? Or am I getting turned over here?
RAPgolfvr6182 2
wouldnt say it would stretch the tyres at all
VR6Pete 1,455
not at all. 195mm is about 7" isnt it?
UKG Grant 1
yeh you would want to go smaller then that for good stretch
VR6Pete 1,455
probably not worth it on 7" wheels though ? I've got some 9" brock B2's and they are stretched a little - not too much though.
Tiny12 0
yea I just worked out the measurements on the ruler and there is nothing in it is there!!! what type of width/profile should I go for a subtle stretch?? (on a 17 inch wheel with 7 width!)
UKG Grant 1
175/55 or 185/35 would do
Rikki 2
? Didnt think you could get 195/45/17's????More than likely 195/40's. IMO they'll sit perfect on a 7j rim 185/35's for a more extreme stretch. Also depends on the brand of tyre!!!!
jimballs 0
I've got a similar question on tyre sizes at the mo - I'm picking up a set of 16" 6.5j wheels on saturday & wondering what width tyres to get for these. I just want a tidy fit & a low profile (40 to 45mm?), I currently have a set of the standard BBS 15s, with 205/55 or 205/60 on them I think, & I'm not lowered yet. Blackcirces.com has thrown out : Toyo Proxes T1-R 195/45 R16 V (80) £63.88 Would 195/45 sit ok on a 6.5j wheel?
craggsy 91
195/45 is what id go for and should be ok on a 6.5 check on the toyo website as it lists wheel widths and recomemded tyre sizes. But if a 205 is fine on standard wheel then 195 will be
Rikki 2
I personally would go 195/40's????Try Camskill for tyres same spec as above 195/45 toyos are £45.50 inc vat?????? 195/40 are £54.20....you cant beat Camskill....!!!!!
Rikki 2
Check tyrestretch.com...they have 195/45 on a 6.5j...15's tho but you get the idea. Dont look stretched at all!!!
mike 6
deffo 195/40's if 7in wide
jimballs 0
should be picking up a set of 195/45/16s for just over £100 tomorrow - looked at the ones on tyrestretch.com, they look tidy enough - happy days
craggsy 91
Stretch is not big or clever. 7s are good with 195/45s.....ran them at the ring with no adverse effects and stick closer to original rolling radius the 195/40s
