chrisgbrindley 0
I once had some splitfire plugs & leads on my old Polo 16v they made it a bit nippier. My VR6 has standard VW Plugs and leads, its running really nice at the moment as they have all just been replaced. Is it worth getting a performance set? Do they really make a difference to the bhp or just an expensive version of the standard ones? Can anyone recomend some good ones & there suppliers?
acf8181 0
nah, just get a set from vw (but make sure they're the red ones - they do two and the cheaper black ones arent as good quality). prob with aftermarket leads is they tend to be too fat for the lead guides, so the little notches on the guides cut into them and damage them. plus they may not work with the lead removal tool. binliner 0
If it's running well no point changing anything
chrisgbrindley 0
Thats what I thought, I read some previous posts and agree, if it isnt broke dont fix it! They are the black ones at the moment & I find them faultless havent had any damp start problems. It even started first turn of the key after I charged the battery up and it had been parked up for 5 months! shail 0
ive got magnecor blue leads - acf is right - they dont fit into the guides. My guides have been 'made to fit'. to be honest, they dont make a difference to the vw standard ones, as they are very good to start with.
