So getting the G60 FD gear will give me 3.68 FD on my golf.If this is the case then why does VR6Pete want a G60 FD gear if he already has a Corrado ? Surely he already has 3.68 ? FishWick 21 Posted September 17, 2009 Report Share Posted September 17, 2009 Yep, Golf and Corrado VR6 gearboxes = Identical :-)Where you're getting your Corrado = 3.68 from is because A), the yank VR6 (aka Corrado SLC) got a 3.68 diff because it was only 2.8 and made schitt power due to the californian emissions crap....so the shorter gearing kept the 0-60 in line with the Euro 2.9 model......and Corrado G60s had the 3.68 diff :-) Link to post Share on other sites

I doubt the extra cc plays a part, not when you're talking hauling 1300kg around! The main difference is the 2.9 has a bit more top end due to the intake manifold and VW increased the rev limit, so it's literally just hanging onto 2nd gear for longer, which probably pips the Golf's 0-60 time I guess?The Corrado is more streamlined aswell to achieve it's 150mph top speed, or 146 or what ever it is, which may help in the 0-60 dash aswell I suppose!
