Rikki 2
Sure it was a aaa 'rado's have abv? Is it obd1 or
chrisbvr6 0
yeah its an import on a aaa engine code think it a obd1 not %100 sure how do i find this out?
Rikki 2
It should be on the left hand side of the rocker cover on a sticker (left when looking at the engine from the front) although not very reliable as the rocker could have been changed. Also abv rockers are metal aaa are plastic! Where is it imported from?
thegoth 5
although even if it's an OBD2 with built in immobiliser it should still fire up briefly and then die after a second.

Hiten 0
you checked fuses and relays, sometimes it could be the simpliest of things. also make sure the crank sensor is connected
rodney 17
well my friend.. it's back to basics I am afraid...Are you sure you have a good earth connection? Have you tested it??Can you see the spark on the dizzy when you turn over with the cap off?Can you see the spark with the plugs out against the blockAre all fuses correct and working? If you chopped and cut the wiring loom are they connected (i.e no dry joints)Can you swap out an ECU from a mate/member local to you.Have you a VAGCOM you can connect? Local member???Are the headlights in? Do they dim or fail on ingnition/startup? Fault path indicator....Let us know how these go then we can add more..
UnitedMotorsport 55
Look on the fuse box end of the engine wiring loom. There is a red/yellow wire that has a single pin red plug on it. This needs to be connectred to permenant live. This is worth checking as a few people miss this when doing engine conversions.
