dru 0 Posted October 4, 2009 Report Share Posted October 4, 2009 just after any help following on from my non starter threadhere goes my vr broke the other day (see non starter thread) and my garage told me the fuel pump was broken after many days of them messing me about i told them to tow it back to my house for me to sort due to thm installing 2 new pumps and telling me the pumps were damaged?? so ive orderd a new pump from a different supplier, my concer now is that the pump isnt acually the issue, im thinking immobilizer after reading other threads and peoples advice, so my question is at what point would the immob stop the engine from starting as`im getting spark but no fuel?does it stop powewr going to the fuel pump? pls help Link to post Share on other sites

legvw 0 Posted October 4, 2009 Report Share Posted October 4, 2009 The earth goes back to the fuse box somewhere, don't exactly know where, but the 4 wires that run to the tank run up the drivers side. 2 wires will be thicker than the other 2, these are the pump wires, the brown is the earth. legvw 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 Oh, just seems a bit weird that the garage fitted 2 pumps and both of them are faulty? I've seen some alarms wired into the positive feed to the pump, but your getting a positive at the pump, right? With the igniton on? And when cranking?If thats all ok then it could only be the pump, but as above i just can't see 2 pumps failing, unless they've used second hand ones. Link to post Share on other sites

dru 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 it was the garage that said the first 2 where faulty but i got a different story from their supplier , not going into that ill just upset myself LOL turns out they where just taking me for a ride and being lazy, so ive orderd another from a different supplier which will be here tomoz so fingers crossed they did diagnose right?? dru 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 they also tied to tell me they drained my fuel tank and couldnt put the fuel back in for safty reasons they aint drained it just another fast one!!!!!!!! MUPPETS no aint charged me for that just for the gearbox mount they changed whilst waiting for a second pump but ill be getting that checked Link to post Share on other sites
