Blake 0
Hi guys, I'm importing a set of 16x9 schmidt modernline 1 to New Zealand at the sweet cost of NZ$1400 all up. Naturally I am wanting to lower the car - how low should I go so to look good but still be able to drive over shitty roads and speed bumps etc? Also, should I simply be getting springs and shocks (will I be happy enough with how these perform re: handling, drivability and looks?) or should I fork out for coil overs? One last thing, if I am lowering and perhaps getting coil overs will i need spacers? if so can someone advise me which one's I should be getting. Cheers!
binliner 0
Id get coilovers... worth the extra imo in terms of handling and especially when it comes to getting the ride height just right
Blake 0
but will i need spacers with these wheels if i get coilovers?

Blake 0
plus how low should i go for comfort and looks?
binliner 0
the beauty of coilovers is you can play with the height until you find what suits you... you'll gonna need some archwork if you're running 16x9 all round though
Blake 0
Ill need arch work even before I do the suspension? Is that because the wheels are so wide? How do you work on the archwork anyway?
bazz780 0
there are a few ways, what i did was got the inner lip rolled and the arches flared by a body shop and then re-sprayed the rear quarter panels as the paint cracked when doing the arches. or you might be able to get away with just rolling the lip
Blake 0
Can you tell me if I will definately need spacers with this combination of wheels?
