kaptainkernow 0
After a couple months 'mmmm and aaahing' what to do...should i get coilovers, should I get springs and shocks? How much do I spend? Is that a gearbox noise? Should I be sending over half the cost of the car on making it low!? Why do my farts smell like catfood today?......I finally thought 'YES!! Wiectec spring and shock kit from Europerformance. £330 for lowing 50mm/30mm, can't be bad...but then found that it said 'not suitable for vr6 with air con'. Is this right? If so, what can I use and which part for the air con gets in the way? Any help would be great!Cheers
VR6Pete 1,455
That makes no sense - Ok, so a VR6 with air con may weigh a little more with the compressor and extra rads + pipes, but there shouldnt be anything that would foul the shocks.I had coilovers on my last 2 VR's with and without aircon... spindat45 0
i'm not sure why they've added that. I know that some MK3 kits will not be suitable for VR's due to the extra weight of the engine up front but having fitted my own suspension I can honestly say that there is no part of the air con system that will interfere with your suspension. Is the Weitec kit damping adjustable?I've had this kit http://www.gmaxsuspension.co.uk/p1250745.htm fitted to my VR (with air con) for over 3 years and it's served me fine. It's not the hardest of set ups nor the softest but it improved the handling of the car greatly and the height is just right, given the amount of speed humps in London. The overall drop on mine from standard 40mm allround once it had settled. This pic was taken just after fitting new wheels so it does sit slightly lowerhttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f239/sparkz002/bbs%20rc%20kgilkes/kevinbbswheels025.jpgThere are a number of different shock/spring combinations to choose from at varying prices and I'm sure folks on here will have a few more suggestions for you.Kevin
