8vgtimk2 0
I suspect that a few people on here have fitted a six branch manifold like I am about to do.Now that I am going to get rid of the cat as the engine is in a mk2 I would like to know where is the best place to fit the lambda sensor? There are already two holes on the manifold for a probe (one hole for bank 1,3,5 & another for 2,4,6) but is it wise to fit it to one or should I get a hole done further down the pipe where all the gases meet? hvr6 88
do you not have a hole for it on the decat pipe?
8vgtimk2 0
I did not purchase a decat pipe...didn't think I needed one as my car does not need a cat and was going to fit a straight through pipe, or will that be too loud?
aaronmk2 3
your best buying a decat pipe from hotuning ive got one and it has the lambda hole already welded in nice and simple and cheap too
8vgtimk2 0
So I would need the golf 3 decat pipe? http://www.hottuning.eu/?nav=products&subnav=view&product_id=
8vgtimk2 0
Might actually be a lot cheaper as I have a exhaust which I could use for a while. Was going to get a system from the manifold back made up which would have cost £300.00 so £60.00 sounds better with an exhaust system that I already have.

craggsy 91
You need to attach the extra bracket onto the manifold to convert from 2 to 3 holes as thats what it needs to mate upto the cat, or decat
boostjunkie 0
or just drill a hole and buy and weld boss for the lambda to fit in,If you get stuck I can sort one out for you,CheersMatt
craggsy 91
or just drill a hole and buy and weld in a nut for the lambda to fit in' date='If you get stuck I can sort one out for you,[/quote']Dont need to drill hole in 6 branch, that will be in either cat or decat
boostjunkie 0
lol I didn't say drill it in the 6 branch, it has two lambda holes in it already I think he want's to use the exhaust he already has from the mk2 and mate it to the 6 branch, fitting the lambda further down the exhaust, cheersMatt
8vgtimk2 0
I'm going to get a decat pipe to# mate to my mk2 exhaust and see if I can convert the bracket on the 6 branch to 3 holes.
