jesterwalker69 0
I think you dont have a leg to stand on, the copper is 100% correct. The BS requires each plate to be permanently and legibly marked with the following info:The BS number (currently BS AU 145d)The name, trademark or other means of ID of the manufacturer or component supplier (The company that made the plate)Name and postcode of the supplying outlet. VR6Pete 1,455
The MOT guy is at fault i'm afraid mate.see this thread: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?225659purple highline monster is a police man. The law is quite clear on these types of plates. they are for show use only...lots of info on : http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/and also the plate man: http://www.theplateman.com/Are these plates road legal?European plates are not legal for UK cars and may not be legal in other countries. If you choose to use them on a public road you do so at your own risk, theplateman.com CANNOT be held responsible for any consequences you may face from using them improperly. VR6Pete 1,455
dubmesiter now offer UK LEGAL pressed plates, if your running show plates - you wont have a leg to stand on mate.
craggsy 91
As for the part where certain years can run plates with out BS mark is misunderstood. If the plates are the original plates then they are fine, but if they are made after that then they need a BS mark

Mine were illegal. There was and always is a humungous police sting going on down the road from my hospital and it goes on for 3hours. 7 police cars, 6 bikes and several unmarked cars pull you over.Makes you wander who's catching the real crims.Yes, my car was pulled for illegal plates....letters spaced too closely. Didn't notice the missing tax disc though.... muppets.

However these operations are in place to primarily catch uninsured, unlicenced drivers of cars with no MOT. Which i am 100% in favour of and can see it being cost and time effective. rather than leaving them on the road and having to send the resources to deal with the accidents they cause.I guess your tax came back as paid on anpr so his focus was elsewhere.
