dieseldave 0
I have a 97 Vr Higline, with a scopion 918 alarm. I started the car the other day and drove it over home, left it sitting for 2 days. I had a broken bonnet cable, so the only way to replace this was to inscrew the latch from the slam panel. Got this problem sorted, but now my alarm goes off every time I open a door, bonnet etc.. The immobilizer has kicked in and now all I get is the clicking from the relay in the alarm control unit, all dash lights etc come on, and there is also a buzzing from the engine, from reading other threads I think this is the aux water pump?So now I'm stuck, have a job interview this week and no car to get there (unless you count a fiesta, but thats hardly a car lol). Does anyone have any ideas?? I'm thinking of removing the alarm from the car, but I'm worried if I do this and the immobilizer is still armed. Do the stadard built in immobilzer and the scorpion one work together or seperate? From memory, the standard one will allow the car to turn over but not start??Any help guys will be much appreciated as I am at my wits end with this car.PSI have changed batteries in the remotes, but they haven't worked for ages and the car was working fine just off the key for months. VR6Nat 9
did you try holding the alarm sensor in the bonnet down, then unlocking the car with the key while you're holding it down?? Just a quick thing to try first. and what are you removing? the alarm and imobiliser??
dieseldave 0
Tried the sensor, going to remove both the alarm and immobilizer mate. Need the car for a job interview so as far as I caan see removing the whole thing is my only option. Will stick a new alarm in when I get the money gathered up.
VR6Pete 1,455
immobilizer is built into the ECU, you would need it 'coded' out to remove factory immobiliser. does your fuel pump prime?
dieseldave 0
Yeah, pump primes and get ignition lights, hazzard lights come on and the immobilizer in the alarm has kicked in. Having spoken to a local alarm specialist the factory immobilizer allows the car to turn over, but the Scorpion one won't as it stops the starter getting power from what they say.Does this sound right? vw_golf_vr6 0
Hi, if you don't have working remotes just rip out the scorpion alarm mate to get it running, then maybe fit another or get an alarm place to do it all for you. If you lived near me I'd offer my help.
