MikeJVV 0
Is it ok to swap them one by one with the standard bolts, without removing the head? The engine has had a new head gasket on and a C2 spacer today, but i didnt have the arp bolts to fit when the head came off but wanted the engine back together to paint etc.The engine wont be running between fitting the new bolts and now but didnt know if it would damage the seal with the gasket by removing and swapping the bolts one by one at a later date. craggsy 91
Id say that the head will need to come off as you will need to put a bit of loctite on end of studs that screw in to the block........just makes it easier in my eyes after watching Tony do mine for me
craggsy 91
Also they will still need torquing down in the correct way
MikeJVV 0
Ok.Would i still be able to use the head gasket that i have fitted today? Baring in mind the engine wont have ran. Unsure on if once a headgasket has been fitted one and bolted down, if it can be used again?

MikeJVV 0
Yeah, im toying with not putting the ARP bolts in, and running less than 300bhp. And then maybe fitting new arp bolts with a cam and pairing up the job etc.Hmmm never mind, the build goes on!!! Really need to start a build thread on here too. ha
jims13 6
head bolts should be good to around 330 bhp.. but arp's are a safer option and reusable.if you need any advice or want to look at a complete one, give us a shout , as im in colchester
