Navlall 0
I just bought a 97 black highline with the quad lights on the front. Were they a factory option? Also because of the quad lights I have no light adjuster next to my light switch. Is this normal or has someone been messing around.
BADOIR 2
My black highline aint got one either, with standard lights, yet Sals Mulberry (purple to you Craig ) has got it ??????????????? Was the steering wheel optional as well dont see many of them lol rocking horse s**t springs to mind..
Navlall 0
Thats really messed up. My 1.4 16v polo has the adjuster. Were the quad lights an option from VAG for the highline.I think steering wheel was an option and there were only 100 made.
spindat45 0
i've got a black Highline and it didn''t have adjustable headlights when I bought it as standard. Quad headlights were not standard on these or any UK MK3's as far as I'm aware. Mine also didn't have the wooden steering wheel or gearknob so I will hazard a guess that along with climate control, these were options on Highline models. I stand to be corrected though.Kevin
Damo 85 0
I was under the impression that the wooden gearknob was highline standard. Your steering wheel is a rare item, although not to everyones taste. and no, my highline doesnt have a headlight adjuster either.. so nothings been messed about with, you've just got quads fitted by a prev owner! Rikki 2
Wood knob is standard on all manual Highlines! Wood wheel was an option as were twin headlmaps an option on all models! Electrically height adjustable were an option i think but you'll find most late ones have them!
Pittuf 0
Agree with the above apart from the last bit, my P reg highline aint got them.Aren't they fitted when a towbar is put on at the factory so you can lower the angle of the dangle when you have extra weight on the back? Jonnyboy82 0
I have one of the last highlines, mine came with the wooden gearknob and headlight adjuster.

motocrossmad 0
sorry to get real sad but am i right in thinking that the highlines had raised center/handbrake surround? (kinda where you put your phone or loose change)
Jonnyboy82 0
What about heated mirrors were they standard on all highlines?
Navlall 0
I thought all leccy mirrors were heated. My mk2 ones were. Do the mk3 ones work off the de-mister or do they work on their own.
Jonnyboy82 0
Well i had the de-mister on last night and it didnt work the mirrors?

Do they only work with the rear screen
Rikki 2
As said they come on with the screen....and not that hard to get the glass off to check ??????
spoonman2 2
You need to get the shell off the back to get to the mirror clips to get it off, this part IMHO is not easy atall and you risk breaking the glass. A new drivers glass is getting on for £50 from VW garages, so I dont see the point.Maybe go to a VW garage and give them your registration, they can tell you what you have on the car from that information. Jonnyboy82 0
So which is it? One says its easy and the other says it isnt? Can it be that difficult to take the glass off to see?
Navlall 0
So which is it? One says its easy and the other says it isnt? Can it be that difficult to take the glass off to see?LOLI tried this on my mk2 and it was hard enough. I wouldn't try it again. Another question about the highline. Did they all come with the deep chin spoiler or was that just the very late ones.
