How long should it take a garage to take out a vr6 and replace with another ? also how much cost wise?

Took me(basic undersatnding) and a mate(he good mechanic) 2 full days..to do 2 cars.

so realistically you looking at a garage with equipment,tools, ect...should take em a day?

I can get mine out of my MK2 in about 5 hours if I work straight through. Thats on my drive without a crane and on my own. So a fully equipped garage should piss it in a day.

I would say £300 is not that bad....depends what the hourly rate is of the place that's quoted.....cetainly a lot less hassle......than doing it yourself...depends if you have the time and place to do it yourself

£300 is a good price. When I had mine done, I paid £800 in total, which included the price of the new engine, new clutch and labour. And my mechanic charges £37 an hour, took him a day from when the new engine arrived.

£300 is not a bad price i can get mine in and out in 5-6 hours and only the price of coolant, oil and a engine crane which is alot cheeper than £300
