Scrappage casualty - i hate this scheme.

Recommended Posts

A Corrado VR6 '94, with 18,352 miles, garaged overnight from new, one owner, serviced by my dealership for it's entire life. I couldn't buy it, it's against the law once it's been registered as scrap, believe me i tried.

Sorry if the pic doesn't work.

The icing on the cake is "what i could have bought it for"...... £1500

Heads up, i spoke in depth to the scrap fella who turned up, when i asked if it would be cubed, he said not a chance, they'll break it. Skemsdale if any one is interested. As you can imagine the car was mint.

That will be going to Hills Motors then, a real shame to see such a car taken off the road, some people just dont have any foresight as to the asset or the physical value of a vehicle.

I have seen some excellent cars going to be scrapped. A1 condition Mk3 16v's with 17k on the clock, as well as a whole host of other classic vehicles and useable vehicles. all lined up around the country to be destroyed.

I have heard of garages buying the car off the owner rather than it entering the scheme, shame the garage didnt do this.

come on people. One less Corrado VR and no doubt one brand new Kia on the road to replace it. Its for the good of the earth because everyone knows that a 15year old car capable of 25mpg is going to kill the planet where as building a new car taht can do 30mpg using raw materials, shipping it all around the world and delivering it to a forecourt has NO environmental impact whatsoever.

exactly!!!!!!! wot a waste of resources, time and money building a car to replace another thats in perfect working order? same with the stupid idea of crushing good cars just because they have no tax! its just another way to swindle more cash out of us somehow.

i rang hills to ask about the 'rado.......................as soon as i said vr6 they new which one i was after!!!! give them the plate and it was the same one!! sounded promising.........till he went and checked with his boss :-( its going on ebay as a full conversion. so keep ur eyes peeled cos there will be a mint conversion up on there soon!!
