motocrossmad 0
I have a Highline vr6 which has been remapped, induction kit (if i wish to fit it), wietec suspension and (will have) track tyres. Also by early next year it should have a set of 263 cams.Next year i plan to do a track day with the car, my problem is that i have a friend with a clio 172 who is constatnly telling me that it will waste my VR on the track! After reading what my car has had done, how much of a problem do you think i will have?? rodney 17
the 172 is a light as a feather so go fo the TT 320mm brake conversion and then smoke him
H13VYY 0
You should be able to do him. I remember on my previous vr6 which had rock solid coilovers, decat, 6 branch and filter and i was bumpering a clio 172 around a massive roundabout to the point where the clio lost control and just held on and i was fine. On the straight i was going to overtake but the road wasn't long enough. So you should be able to take your mate if you got good suspension and tyres. You know you got more power, it's just about getting your handling spot on.
CALICO 130
more power and lots more weight lol good luck you;ll need it

spadam 7
strip the car back to nothing and you may be able to keep up there such light and quick cars just pry he cant drive lol

goonersteve 0
Depends on the track as well. If it's a small track with corners all over the place, then i would say your fooked! If it's got a few straights then you may stand a better chance.
kerrly 0
16v Final Drive.having shorter gearing so you can actually make use of the VR power . Problem with stock VR6 on track is the number of corner where you will have to drop down to 2nd where as the clio will be able to blaze through in 3rd.Dave
The Monk 50
Before I had my problems, I managed to rape a 182 sport down a 3 mile road filled with islands. My car was sat low as hell with spare wheel and rear seats removed and it was dry cold night. Also decat, cai and filter, zorst.
rodney 17
borrow a charger and dont tell him... then no probs....
AJmk2 2
All about the driver mod. Ive seen on board footage of a 172 standard beating a 172 turbo and sure there are 100s more out there of 'lesser' cars beeating the better. Main thing you need to sort out id imagine is suspension set up.
FishWick 21
Yep /\The 3.68 diff from the Corrado G60 works extremely well on the VR6.
motocrossmad 0
Not going to go to that level yet as i am 'supporting' two other cars and a bike, but thats very usefull to know about the diff, thanks. What ratio is the VR6 diff and does the G60 one fit in the VR casing??

They're all the same size on the 02A gearboxes, just have fewer or more teeth :-)Obviiously it's a gearbox out and strip down job, so perhaps schedule that in when the clutch and synchros etc need doing.Economy takes a small hit, but the whole car just feels lighter, more energetic and keener to accelerate, so it's worth it imo! bungy 2
As Steve already said on a small track not much hope and if it's had all its cats removed, then I doubt your chances even on a larger track.
