vr6binks 0 Posted December 17, 2009 Report Share Posted December 17, 2009 right guys my vr6 has decided not to work and when i put the keys in the ignition and go to start the car there is this buzzing noise coming from the dash it sounds like under the steering wheel ! when i try to start the car it just turns over and does not even try to fire up, could this be something to do with alarm/immobiliser or a relay fuse ? any help would be amazing as shes my daily driver !cheers guys Link to post Share on other sites

After that with the lights on do the lights remain strong on turn over or dim/go off? Looking for a battery issue first folled by others..Let us know Link to post Share on other sites
vr6binks 0 Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 17, 2009 yeah mate the lights are off and doors open or shut it still does it, the lights stay strong when itry to start it with them on, im pretty sure the battery is good cos the engine just turns over ! vr6binks 0 Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 19, 2009 right guys the problem so far.... i have singled out the buzzing to a relay in the fues box ! its got 109 stamped on it does any one know what it does and if i can get it from my local motor parts place or is it going to be a genuine part from VW ?? vr6binks 0 Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2009 right i brought a new engine control relay and although the buzzing noise has stopped the car still wont start ! my uncle is a machanic and he said it could possibley be the cam shaft sensor or the crank shaft sensor as they can control the spark is this correct ?! thegoth 5 Posted December 22, 2009 Report Share Posted December 22, 2009 have you checked to see if you've got voltage at the fuel pump. there's a relay and fuse in the circuit either of which might have gone. Link to post Share on other sites
vr6binks 0 Posted December 22, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2009 ive been tinkering about with the pump and im pretty sure that the pump needs replacing cos some times it will pump the fuel through to the injectors and other times it wont ! i will check the relay and fuse tomorrow when theres some sun light !
