bungy 2
My EPC light came on today and so a little research when I got home. All looks towards a possible brake light switch failure which i'll check in the morning. Anyone else have this come up and what are the usual culprits?
UnitedMotorsport 55
Had this in both my 4motions and R32. More than likley the brake light switch if the throttle still works!
bungy 2
Pretty much what I thought and i'll check it later. Seems quite a common fault on mk4's.
bungy 2
Well my throttle still works because i'm driving it and my brake lights are working. Do I still need to change the switch to clear it?
UnitedMotorsport 55
The brake light switch has 2 functions:1) Control the brake lights2) Tell the ECU the brake is pressedItll 2 that isnt working.I would VAG COM the car, see what the recorded error is!
bungy 2
Cheers for that, i'll get another switch tomorrow and replace. I'll have to speak to Jake nicely to clear the fault.
pimpcat 0
if its not that it could also be the stering angle sensor in the steering wheel as mine has had that issue
bungy 2
It turned out to be the brake light switch and cleared itself when i put a new one in..
