adam78 0 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Share Posted January 18, 2010 Hi,as per the title. The car gets up 2 temp as it should and stays bang on 90. The problem is when I drive on the mway at speed. The tempneedle begins 2 drop the blowers get cooler and mpg drops. I have changedthe thermostat twice. Any ideas peeps? Link to post Share on other sites

I checked the new thermostat before fitting, and its opens at 80*C, the same with the old one I took ut..... Checked it on VAG.COM, and no faults....... Link to post Share on other sites

Temp gauge reads low, poor heater output - Faulty thermostat / Electric fan not switching off / Incorrect coolant concentration2. Temp gauge reads low, heater output normal - Faulty temp gauge or coolant temperature sensor / Coolant old, causing inacurate gauge readingsWhen it happened to me, it was a dodgy thermostat.
