creative 0 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Share Posted January 28, 2010 hi there i got a golf 00 vr6 4motion and i was having problem with rear drive so i got a appoinment at the dealership and they told me that the haldex ecu was fried an i needit a new one. only problem is that the ecu cost an arm and a leg in the dealership, so i want to know where the ecu is locadet and if i can use ecu from any mk4 4motion from a scrapyard ??? bungy 2 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Share Posted January 28, 2010 Its next to the diff filter, remove the plugs from the ECU, remove the beam bolt thats near it as this will give you a bit more room to get it out, and then unbolt the ECU and with a little wiggling of the unit it should come out.I googled this and got this information from an Audi forum. You can fit a performance ECU which I'm guessing will be loads cheaper than the oem one and give you some fun too. Link to post Share on other sites
