Stealth Racing Turbo Kit discussion

Recommended Posts

Hi Venice,

I have a aircon VR do you have a intercooler kit that would fit?

Also the Silicone holes are they Samco and can you have them in blue?

Are the 440cc Injectors, Bosch?

Just wondering about oil coolers, how many rows and where would you fit them?

Is there options for an adjustable boost and a turbo timer?

Kev do you have any thoughts?

Iv had an exciting week. It's back. Had a call from stealth last Friday to say it's ready. I rushed down and picked it up on the sat. When I got there Vince and John showed me around the car exp

It is absolutely brilliant! Still using any excuse just to go out and drive the thing some blurb and pics: For the benefit of some who asked about the stealth turbo: Firtly, I must say the level o

Uh right didnt know he was going supercharged now. I just remembered him saying that there was a possibility of his car being used as a test bed for the 24v kit when he was in the US.

I ran out of time before going away for the 3 months and on return i've decided to do the work myself. With advice and taking in everything i've read I am going the Rotrex route.

Anyone?? After hearing so many good reviews / comments on here about vince and john at stealth about 6 months ago i had some schimmel 263's installed there and a remap. i was impressed. iv been looking into going turbo route but need the car to be as reliable as it is now. I was hoping someone out there may have had this kit installed at stealth or know of someone who has and may have some feedback???

Although I don't have one myself, I know others who have and they are very reliable with bags of power.

You do need think about other components though such as brakes, suspension etc...

The demo car was off the road due to a leaking radiator but if you are serious then contact stealth and take it from there.

I've had schimmels and remap, highly recommended :)

Hi Pete and thanks for reply,

I have uprated the brakes slightly with drilled / grooved discs all round and performance pads etc. I don't intend to be driving like a tit though lol. Iv been doing a lot of reading on here lately and know clutch, fuel pump etc are a must have but like you say I know stealth would advise as necessary.

I can only talk from experience when I had the cams and remap at stealth Vince and john were great, excellent workmanship and the car gave great results too. I am serious about going turbo and believe from what iv seen on here that a kit put together by specialists is the way to go in terms of reliability. That being the key word as this this will be my daily transport. I'm currently freshening the bodywork up but will be giving stealth a call in near future. Then its just the cost to worry about lol.

I asked recently about DIY kit but not plans for that at the moment.  The others that Ive heard about have had no real issues at all, I would certainly entertain it if you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself.

If it were me Id be going for the Racelogic TC at the same time as getting the car done.

I've not long spoken to Vince and mentioned that a few people have been asking about the kit in this thread.

As there's quite a lot of information then he says to give them a call to discuss as opposed to emailing.

I know they are finishing one of these installations at the moment and have recently done one before Christmas which looked superb and factory looking.

Definitely worth a call to Vince at the workshop on 01926 812259 to discuss if you have already emailed or looking for more information.

Cheers.

I'll fess up. I booked my car in for a Stage 1+ turbo (with LSD) - I am leaving out the RaceLogic for now as it'd add £1k to the price and there are lots of other costs I had to tackle first (clutch, brakes, etc etc). I can comment once I get it back.

Only one downside so far is the time taken (I dropped the car off October 27th). Stealth have an excellent reputation, and as such are always busy which can only highlight how highly regarded Vince and the team are.

Needless to say, it's been a tough 10-11 weeks as I cannot wait to have the car back :) Hopefully all of this bad weather will have passed by the time it's done and I'll have some grip! I'm sure a lot of you know the feeling when you're waiting for your phone to light up saying "Incoming call - Stealth Racing"!

I spoke to Vince last week, he told me that my head is going to get skimmed and that the LSD hasn't been fitted yet. Long way to go still :(. If anyone sees my car there please could you let me know what state it's in!

Spoke to Vince the other day who said he had one in that he is finishing up as mine is booked in for 4 weeks, so don't think you have too much longer to wait :)

Enjoy the drive home! :D

I wish! Its burning oil like no tomorrow. head rebuild, and also getting a new steering rack and my stainless steel dub power OEM look exhaust fitted :)

Boo! But on the upside you'll have a well sorted motor! Looks the business up close and it'll be good to hear how you get on at a future show :)

Just out of interest how much is the turbo costing u?

Difficult to answer at the moment as I haven't picked it up yet (and have tried not to think about it!), but I believe the price given was £5.5k with a Helix clutch. I've also opted for an LSD, Chains, and the head/gearbox given a once over as well as getting Vince to fit my big brakes (as I couldn't undo the bastard brake hose union!). I have maybe gone a bit overkill, but I wanted some peace of mind. It will definitely cost a fair bit more than the list price.

Just read that back to myself, I must be mad! Gulp. But maybe it will explain why I opted to get the race logic TC and custom exhaust fitted later!

Saying that, for a drive in, drive out turbo conversion as well as having the Stealth aftercare and support, I still think it is good value for money if you're not too handy with a spanner (Fishwick persuaded me with this talk!). I actually enquired at various other places about doing a turbo conversion and they were very vague about how long it would take and seemed to mention hourly rates a lot. The Stealth kit is tried and tested, and with plenty of scope for more power if I'm feeling more mental. plus you'll have Vince on your side :)
