VRTDan 0
After months of searching for the right car, finally I found it just over 3 hours from home. The car really is a credit to the previous owner (xyber from the forum), built to a very high standard, & worth every penny. The ideal basis for me to make a VR how I want it. With 99k on the clock, but 60k under the bonnet she is in fantastic working order. With help of the Vortech V9F Charger and a few other choice mods, she's kicking out 295bhp & 260 ftlbs and hit the speed limit on the rollers of 158bhp in 4th gear!! With more power very easily obtainable!! The day she was picked upHere's a few pic's from edition 38 this yearA few recent pic's: Been practicing my phototography! And I almost forgot, the business endRecent plans are to put the std side skirt back on along with a set of front mud flaps. Also I'm going to get some unpainted side strips, and eventually front & rear bumpers with unpainted tops (as on the gti's). I have seen a lovely sent of 8 & 9.5 x 17 BBS RS262 which if I can raise the money in time will be enquiring after!! For shows & summer use of course, but I'll have to mod the arches, which I'm also looking into at the moment.I'm sure more will follow soon. Thanks for reading!Dan
soul-2-soul 3
Lovely car there. Well worth the wait. Are you planning on attending any meets this year?
VR6Nat 9
Looks gorgeous mate... first dibs on the bumpers when you sell them!! lol.You really have got a good one there... enjoy!! :)
craggsy 91
Marc looked after that very well indeed. You have got yourself a top motor
CALICO 130
Are you adding the black plastic arch trims to match the bumpers as per earlyVR's nice looking motor nice Body kit
VRTDan 0
I've been a bit crap with regards to getting to meets since buying this back in August. I get down the local Wycombe meet. Weather permitting I'll be at this month’s local meet & no-rice.I’m trying to find out what they’re worth. I’ll give you a shout when the skirts are off. Bumper as you can see is off already. The car is a testament to Marc. Every thing has been done properly, and was exactly what I'd been looking for.Na, the plastic arches won’t be going on. Not the look I’m after. Plus if I do go down the BBS RS route I’ll need the arches rolled & flared slightly as they’re pretty wide.
soul-2-soul 3
Cool, I had a set of BBS RS on my old MK1 Golf. Looked fab but were terrible to keep clean & found they started to corrode quickly due to them being in 3 pieces & crap getting in between them. Took them back to the shop i got them from after 6 months
VRTDan 0
If I had them it would be for dry & show use. The What's on there would stay as my daily slags! I struggle with them!! lol The recent weather has made it so hard to keep clean!!This was after a clean with the sponge, and they still looked pretty sorry. After literally hours of autosol'ing, my fingers hurt so much! - Even my finger nails hurt lol - But they came up!!I've autosol'ed them a few times since and are coming up better each time. I have been using a bit of poor boys wheel sealant after too which helps.BBS will be fun! But It will look wicked sat on them. One of my favourite rims! And with the gold centres, they’ll stand out a bit more on a blue car.
VRTDan 0
There are a few Vids up on You Tube - here of the VR. Also some for my S4 & MK2 20VT. Enjoy
soul-2-soul 3
I used to spend hours trying to keep my RS's clean & nearly froze to death on a few occasions. The RX's on the VR are simple too clean in comparison. All this cleaning talk & I have not cleaned mine in the last 2 months as it has been raining, snowing or way to cold on my planned cleaning days!
