Gazbarber1982 3
Yet again I could do with some help and sorry it's a bit long winded...I tried to fit a recirculating dump valve / blow off valve the other day to my car with a low pressure spring in it but everytime I attached the vacuum hose it pulled the diaphram open causing the car to run very lumpy and stall. I tried fitting stiffer springs with the same problem. How can I fit one of these valves when the vacuum seems to be 'sucking' too hard without piercing the hose and causing other problems? Also, how do I fit a boost gauge to my car properly?? I've fitted the boost hose to where the crank case breather hose used to attach to the inlet pipe but it doesn't seem to be registering anywhere near what I expected and sits at about -2psi when idling. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160367293719&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_nkw%3D160367293719%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1 I fitted this gauge and an air / fuel ratio gauge which identified another problem which is the lambda sensor has give up!! Seems to be problem after problem now I want to get a remap of Vince @ Stealth.ALSO, in the last couple of days whilst driving the car hard, I'm having problems with gear changes. From standing it jumps slightly going into 1st and crunches for reverse but it's getting worse quite fast. Stopped using it for now until I can find the problem! Theres no problems with slippage on the clutch but not sure if its linkage, cables, gearbox, etc. Anyone have any idea's??
ROOSE 0
try castrol gearbox oil mine crunched when going in 1st and reverse, i guessed that it was my gear syncros so i changed the oil and its a massive improvment.
Rikki 2
What charger may help?
ROOSE 0
try putting the vacuum elsewhere? behind your throttle body give the valve time to actuate. or try another valve which you can adjust the spring. just my option hope it helps
Antihero1981 8
i find a blow off valve makes mine run lumpy so put recirc one back on and its fine!yeah like roose said behind throttle body should be good.....
AJmk2 2
Think you will need a twin piston dump valve or recirc, other ones have the valve open at idle which allows air to be drawn in which isnt registered by the MAF so wont run well.
Rikki 2
i run a standard dump valve for a turbo car and it runs fine as i said what charger and obd1 or

Gazbarber1982 3
Mine's an OBD1 with a Z Engineering ZR2 charger. It is a recirculating valve but wasn't working well with any of the springs I put in it. Too much vacuum was pulling it open so I've took it off for now until I can find another solution. Cars's got stage 1 charger, de cat and a milltek. Thats about it really and it was worth every penny for the noise and the grin factor.
