dru 0
just had some rather good news back in early jan i was caught speeding in my vr i wont mention the speed cos it nothing to show off about but lets just say it was double the speed limit, i was caught by a nice pc using a speed gun at the time i was just mega pissed off so didnt think about what to say but i did ask to see the calibration certificate for the radar, whick they couldnt provide, i showed them all my docs at the time and off i went feeling sick and waiting for a court summon. 10 days later it came i was gutted knew i was going to loose my licsense, then 3 days after that i recieved a call from the courts saying my date was cancelled due to an admin error and i would recieve another date soonthe second letter came this morning, i poo'd myself opened it to find that ive been let off scott free due to the radar not being accuratly tested and my speed wasnt clearly documented by the numpty policeman just shows its always good to be a smart arse every now and again, although i still have my liscence i have well and truely learnt my lesson
H13VYY 0
thats great. not all of them speed guns are accurate. there was once a case where a guy was stopped on the motorway and accused of driving over 90mph according to the speed gun, however he had his cruise control set at 70mph. He took the case to the court and won and it was held that the speed gun was inaccurate.

The Monk 50
My grandparents were clocked doing 65 in a 30.What was unbelievable was tey were in a 1.1 saxo and 100 meters before had been stationary pulling out of their driveway. They were still issued a fine and had to go to court. An 82 year old with his wife in the car isn't going to hit 65mph in 100 meters in a 1.1L. Ian_rogers 0
I heard a story of a young lad that was 'caught' doin over 100 on a motorway, think it was a civic 1.4, he went to court claimed his car wouldn't even do that speed, he was told he had to prove it.... So £2k later with lots of testin with sone company on an airfield he had the docs to prove his car had top speed of 92 mph.But now he's tryin to get the £2k it cost him bk' from the police
The Monk 50
lol. That's odd. In my early early days of driving I was goign down the M54 with no traffic around at all. I was in an old 1.5D 106 and was doing 90. Luckily I'm no longer that stupid but everyone when they're younger will try to thrape their car.....with the exception of B.O.B lol.I was over taken at that point by a 1.1 Nissan micra thraping it past me. After reading up on it, those cars could only manage around 93mph and he was gunning it past me....up hill. The lad with the Civic will be lucky to see a penny of that even if he is right. More so because the courts/police didn't say they would pay testing costs.
