Scott 0
I just noticed theres oil seeping from what looks like the head to block join! Right behind the maf on the end of the block, it starts at the lower head edge and spreads out - just missing the rearmost belt pulley - anyone else had this?Hopefully its nothing to do with the head, but not happy now i've seen it
VR6Pete 1,455
90% of VR6's I've seen have a weaping headgasket on that side of the head - not sure if its a problem or not. my corrado is like that at the moment.pete
thegoth 5
Yep, 'Tis a weak point where the gasket is thinest.

golfrabbit33 0
how old are your chains ( mileage) as you could look at it that way and you can change the head gasket whilst doing chains, and that way it takes your mind off the problem and gives another 100k of trouble free motoring with the sound feeling of a strong new block/head joint and spot on timming from shiny new chains (ooohhh shiny and new ) point is think positive vr6`s are so worth it
golfrabbit33 0
applies to Dan too
Scott 0
yep your right, dont know the age of the chains, it doesnt rattle, but then the maf used to work too might do that!
golfrabbit33 0
if the chain age is not known, then for saftey`s sake you have to say they are original factory fitted, if your mileage is near 100k,then i would def do them.
