Climatronic - Aircon?

I feel a bit stoopid having to ask this to be honest - but if you don't ask, you don't know right? Anyways, I have the climatronic system in my vr6 and my questions are: does this mean I have aircon? How do I turn the aircon on? I don't see a button with A/C or Aircon anywhere...

so.. you should have controls as per the pic above.. yes you have aircon.. :-d

auto is a/c on

econ is a/c off

you change the temp with red (hotter) and blue (colder)

the rest should be pretty obvious..

i'd put the auto on, fan on max, temp on min..

shoud be fridge cold in the car in a couple minutes.

your system MAY need regassing if it not that cold..

if you pop the bonnet, and look at the bottom of your auxilery belt, you will see the air-con compressor, get someone to turn it on from the controls and see if you see the flywheel engage the compressor, if it doesnt engage, 1) it may need re-gassing, 2) another fault may exist.

Yeah the flywheel engages the compressor. I have got to take it to the garage coz it needs 2 abs sensors replaced so I let them look into it then. Thanks guys;)

I have seen a climatronic unit for sale, can you retro-fit climatronic to a MK3 Highline with A/C????

not a simple task! you need loom / sensors / and / heater motors etc ....
