rear wiper stuck on

simple problem, but really annoying. rear wiper wont cancel no matter how much i play with the stalk.

anybody with a fix or solution for this would be appreciated

which one would it be? and won't that just disable the wiper completely?

my mk4 golf has a clear notch when you push an pull the stalk to turn on and turn off. is a mk3 the same.?

the dead zone for the wiper stalk is controled by a sprung screw, this could have come loose and its letting the stalk make contact with the rear wiper switch, have you tried holding the stalk forward a little bit, start up and see if it comes on? if it doesnt then you just need to adjust this screw.

sorry. i should mention its not on all the time. but if i push the stalk forward to wipe the rear screen no amount of pulling forward or fiddling will cancel it!!! its bloody annoying.

lukey..might be the same problem though. i will rip the dash apart and take a look as there is no 'dead zone' as you say. id imagine that pulling it forward would place it there but obviously something has broken.

will get back to you. got to change the momo steering wheel back to a standard one so its all gotta come out anyway

Mine does this. If you push it forwards once to wipe rear screen it comes on then stays on. All you need to do is push it forwards again to wipe it and it will stop after that wipe. Does on mine anyway.

mine does this push once it stays on until you turn ignition off push forward twice (quickly) and does one pass????

mine acts like an on/off switch too, 1 push wont just do one pass i have to push for it to be on and then push for it to go off

thats how they are 1 for on 1 for off!

confirmed. 1 push for on, another push turns it off. cheers guys
