1949bug 0
Hi all. been a member for a while but not posted due to being out of vr6 membership for a few years.Had a mk2 gti with the vr6 install but sold it about the time of joining the forum.Just accuired an early (?) J reg black VR6.I bought the car to break, as I was planning on fitting the engine to a 57 beelte I have laying around. It had a scooby impreza engine in it, but was planning on doing a vr6 as its not really been done yet.Anyway, after collecting the MK3 donor car, Im beginning to feel its too good to break/scrap. So have concidered keeping the beetle as a scooby, and getting the mk3 on the road as a cheap weekend toy.Having searched the forum for about 2 hours, ive not really found what im looking for. That is pictures of Black mk3's with different wheels, suspension, styling etc.Im assuming someone at some point has done a "show us your black mk3's" thread, but I cant find it anyway. So would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction. with pics etc for ideas and to help me make a decision.(my VR6 is wheelless) Im liking the 5 spoke TT wheels, would be a cheap wheel and good for insurance as its a VAG alloy, not aftermarket. I like the idea of a 'dark moody car'.Really looking foward to driving a VR6 again. My last mk2 was immence, but did suffer from wheel spin and lack of grip.Miss it loads had all the goodies; fk coilovers, G60 brakes, genuine mk2 electric recaro interior, full magnex custom system, kn induction. And it was a rear conversion, due to keeping the mk2 golf front hubs allowing fitment of the bbs rms I had.ummmmmm i miss that carYou may have seen me around halsted braintree in my cossie? had some serious fun in her, but had to sell it as I would have ended up hurting my self.lol.Do you know john and darren springet buy any chance?Right, thanks for the pics, defo made my mind up now.Wish list is growing now.Leather interior TT dash instalTT comp alloysfk coiliesangel eyesmilteck full systemmaybe a V1 supercharger.heheh.Anyone fancy buying one of my beetles. 1957 wrx scooby turbo, 1967 1500, or 1972, 1200 lol. Im not really into the whole club thing or ethos. Much prefer being in the workshop with a spanner, or click happy in ebay.Already won a set of TT comps (ones in braintree on ebay) and have already fitted them on the car. Very happy with the choice.Currently looking for a 3door leather interior as the cloth is nasty in mine. Good condition but just nasty colours. My aim is not to spend more than £1250. Still got £750 to play with. I wanted to go all out supercharged, respray, etc. But I like the idea or sticking to a small budjet for a change.Im fed up with expensive cars, that are expensive to fix, and you cant leave anywhere. (the cossie springs to mind- Lets face it is £14k but still a 17 year old escort. lol)The VR6 is so cheap I wouldn't be upset if it got a stone chip, or i found a scratch. I like the idea of guilt free motoring. as most of the cars ive have have been concourse restorations, so ive never driven them far,Will update a pic of the wheels shortly.8-)
