kie_dub 0
Engine speed sensor?? Do you mean the sensor thats leaking oil at the front? That aint been changed yet because i cant get to it without getting it on the ramp at my mates work, and cant get there without the car starting lol. Is this sounding like the coilpack? or has anyone got a clue whats happening ?
DanH 1
annoying aint they! cars! sounds electrical dont it? not sure on coilpack, but ive got one u can try if u want?
kie_dub 0
Does sound electrical, got vag com here but i just cannot set it up :@ Got a spare coilpack need to try it but its weird how its happened all of a sudden, would the vagcom pick up a faulty coilpack, had a look at mine thats on now but it looks fine
kie_dub 0
RIght, Got an update.... tested the plug that plugs into the coilpack and it has a current going through it, but im getting no spark .... is it the coilpack?
matty.vrt 120
you only have to jack the passengers side up a little to change the sensor and its just one allen key.
kie_dub 0
That sensor isnt affecting the car not starting , got no spark :s
matty.vrt 120
how does it no when to spark???
kie_dub 0
Im confused lol and i think you are too lol, Ive ruled out the relay for the time being as it worked in another vr6, and its stopped the clicking, it isnt the immobilizer because the injectors are squirting the fuel in and they dont when the immobilizer is on. Tested the plug that plugs onto the coilpack and that has a good power output, tested a plug in a ht lead and there is no spark
matty.vrt 120
the engine speed sensor tells the car when to spark if its not picking up a signal it wont spark. can you see where im coming from. if you want to try changing the coil pack i have a spare you could borrow if you pay postage. kie_dub 0
ahhh right i see, nice one matty, well mates took mine round to someone to try it on his car it is no longer attached to my car lol, i recon now with you saying that, if the coil pack does work on his car its gotta be that sensor right!? good times! UnitedMotorsport 55
If the crank position sensor has failed then the injectors can not be firing!
matty.vrt 120
Worth changing if he has one and its leaking!

kie_dub 0
Just tried my mates crank sensor on my car and had no joy! tested my crank sensor with the multimeter and it has power. Also tested the plug that goes onto the ecu and that has plenty of power with ignition on. Really getting worried about this now and im running out of ideas. Anyone got a clue? my ecu is a c2 motorsport ecu so i hope that hasnt gone been told there over a grandShould the fuel pump stop when the ignition is turned to start???? kie_dub 0
Just tried my mates ecu on my car, and the car started but run crap.... its my ecu Ive been told its got c2 motorsport software running the car. How much is it going to cost me to get this sorted?
matty.vrt 120
i payed £400 for c2 4" maf and ecu software. couldn't you just get your chip soldered in a different ecu they go for under a 100..
UnitedMotorsport 55
Put your ECU on your mates car, see what happens!
jims13 6
ugg.. get the hammer out
kie_dub 0
ugg.. get the hammer outJim you dont know how close i was to just throwing the thing at the wall and ringing the scrap man to take it away before lol.Now that ive chillaxed abit.... my mate has taken mine with him to open it up and see if any of the solder has worn away or any obvious signs of wear. So do i need to get a standard vr6 ecu then send it away to c2 to get one of their chips fitted to it, how does it work im not clued up on the engine management side of FI
matty.vrt 120
send c2 your ecu and another on from the scrappy and they should be able to swap the chip over.
kie_dub 0
Going to ring c2 tomorrow and see what they suggest, good idea that though matty and thats probably what will happen, my mates just rang me he has just opened up the ecu and said the chip had come away by about half a mil, pushed it back down so going to try it again just incase but i cant see it working myself but worth a try. My ecu has been upside down on the car so im thinking ive gone over a bump and its slowly wigled loose with it hanging upside down
