craggsy 91
Well I'd of thought that you want it to spool up later for track use personally. Don't want all the power coming outta corners do ya would just do a showboating jim and light up the fronts
pops 1
exactly craggsy, should have enough revs out of the corner hit boost quite quickly
AJmk2 2
What power are you aiming for? Would be great to have a vr6 track day session.
GVK 1
Going to run @ 0.8bar off the wastegate spring, which can be raised... Matt said even @ 0.6bar it'll be 330-340hp and that turbo will be 'bored'
GVK 1
Car has a 3.6FD, 268 cams and only weighs just over 1000kg, I don't think lag is going to be much of an issue guys... Matt advises the big exhaust housing will make the power delivery more progressive, with a smaller hotside it will spool earlier but that gives you 400lb/ft kicking shit out of the gear teeth... One of the cars running the C2 stuff has a GT30 and that eats 4th gears for breakfast....
golfrabbit33 0
GT3582R with 1.06 hotsidei just got exactly the same pair

GVK 1
Haven't updated this for ages - have had gearbox refreshed with new bearings and gone back to standard VR6 Final drive. With the aim to do a top speed run at Brunters, my old 3.68 wouldn't be 'enough'I've had the head off and fitted a spacer plate (8.5:1) and got the head back on, ex mani/ turbo bolted on, Unorthodox racing (as per Fidanza) 6lb flywheel back on and new Helix paddle clutch. Gearbox bolted back on.Once the engine is back in it'll be time to sort out the plumbing for turbo oil feed/drain, down-pipe fabrication and all the intake/boost pipe work - doesn't sound much does it? :? Thanks to Matt @ C2 UK for all help/advice/parts supply

AJmk2 2
MMMM looks good , 340bhp at 0.6 bar would be nice... Did you find the front strut brace made much difference to how the car feels? Also how do you rate your H&R coilovers are they good for track use?
jims13 6
lower front strut brace is great , upper a bit more cosmetic but still worthwhile.mmm, brunters top speed run , that still on gary ?
GVK 1
I think the front end feels more planted with the brace. It's an Eibach one which is no longer available.Suspension is fine road/track compromise, I do have big ARBs as well, I bought the H&R cheap second hand about a year ago and for the money they're fine - not sure i'd buy a new set as they're not adjustable. AJmk2 2
Looking good on the build. Does the R32 shifter make a lot of difference to how it feels?
GVK 1
Yep, compared to mk3/corrado stuff it's a lot more direct, I've got the fore/aft lever from a TT to reduce the throw as well. Only problem is I don't think you can fit the mk4 shifter under the car on a mk2, I hear there's a Polo one you can use tho.
bungy 2
You can modify and shorten the shift even more which is very worthwhile.

GVK 1
I'm undecided about oil cooler location as will have intercooler in front of rad where i used to have the oil cooler, thought about fitting it in old battery location and then add some holes in the bonnet to vent the heat from it ( the bonnet is dented etc so it wouldn't hurt to experiment)
