My 3.2 24v 6speed 4WD Corrado

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! haven't been on here for AGES! just thought I'd wish you all a happy new year and show you what I've been up to lately.

the 12v died, due to a fialed crank pulley oil seal, which resulted in it knocking out most of the big end bearings and scoring the crank and bore on #5. So, it seemed rude not to fit the only spare engine I had lying around, which happened to be this 3.2 24v BFH engine (out of a 2003 Golf R32). It's been in the car around 3 months now, but I only got it running last week as I just haven't had time to work on it.

Then last week I got bored with the engine and decided to start the syncro conversion.

I just do fancy cutting the boot away in mine to make it 4wd. It's major structural work, it's got to weaken the chassy which wasn't designed for the 4wd. Mmmm

Wait and see what I'm gonna be doing next with the R32 (drive by wire) lump in mine.

I just waiting for REVO to finish there R32 program (Yes I'm still waiting), then I'm gonna decide what's next.

Would love to 4wd it, but as i said, just don't fancy hacking away at the floor pan. And to be honest in the dry it doesn't really suffer from lack of tracton, I've been in plenty of 2wd 1.8t's running 320-350bhp and there just stupid, soon as the turbo kicks in the wheels just start spinning. That's in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th so what's the point, I just love the R32's power, it's just so smooth and controllable even with the NOS turned on.

So at the min I'm in limbo, hopefully will have the next bit of the jigsaw sorted for inters, maybe supercharger, turbo, 6speed box who know's.
