Phat VR6 3
had my immobilizer removed of my ECU buy stealth and now it revs right off the clock :-d. carry's on past 7000 for about 2 seconds.. guess its around 7200- 7500.whats that all about? i like it lol
Knightrider 1
No idea, but prob not the best plan to do that! Peak power on the standard engine is way below that and so it is probably not worth reving it to that level. Change up earlier?
Phat VR6 3
haha thats not like me though.. really does carry on to pull well all the way to its new redline. Im guessing that his hooked me up with a remap at the same time, but i donno
Antihero1981 8
lol mine does the same , waiting for a piston to come through the bonnet!
Phat VR6 3
lol i was more hopping for people to tell me that its sound to rev past 7000, not that the pistons might come though the bonnet lol
Sheeldzy 1
Hey, first post wahey. I just got a VR off my friend and this one revs up past the limiter, infact it feels like the power doesn't come in untill 6000rpm. Apparently this has been chipped and isn't immobilised. I wondered if the rpm output from the ECU had changed as a side effect? My car is a German import too so not sure if it never had an immobiliser to start with.
Sheeldzy 1
Also never hit any redline, might take a bravery pill and go for it
gavinvr6 0
my ecu clocked a fault as 'exceeded maximum rev limit' a couple of month's ago. that was only a 1 off and only coz i lost traction practicing my lauch technique. i usually change at about 6700 IF im absolutely raging it. that's about the best place for a vr imo, a good punt is about 5000

Phat VR6 3
can someone tell me where everyone hits the rev limit... Mine revs off the clock in 1st and 2nd. 3rd about 6200 (what i thought was normal from memory) then 4th is about 6000 and had the limiter in 5th hit at about 5500 the other day but that doesn't happen all the time
Dragon Dave 1
I have never gone into the red on mine. 6400 revs is the highest I've gone in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and I'm not sure how high I have gone in 5th, I was too busy looking at the road.I have never hit a limiter. Sheeldzy 1
What is your guys vehicle speed when you get to the redline in 2nd and/or 3rd? Might help to see if mine going off the clock is just a rev counter issue
Dragon Dave 1
I was too busy looking at the road.On a closed private road Of course! I only ever drive fast on a closed private road!In 2nd gear I get to about 60mph and 3rd I get to 100mph. I haven't checked what speed I'm doing in 1st, 4th or 5th at the redline. Might help to see if mine going off the clock is just a rev counter issueEasy way to check this... and I think you'll love it Put your key in ignition - number 2 so lights are on dash, press and hold the button in left dial that re-sets trip computer, hold button and turn ignition off, keep buttom held and start car.Release the button and press it intill the number 4 comes up..Now you have a digital rev counter :-pCompare the digital readout to speedo readout. The digital will be exact (or to nearest 25rpm) as it's taken from the ECU.
tjsmudger 2
'private road' redlined in 5th, 147mph. Standard engine apart from K+N cone filter!

I think it indicated inches or something stupid. I thought it's great that it's 10k inches to my girlfriends house You can do it with the MFA on the wiper stalk too.. Do the same thing but do the button on the end not the trip computer thing. You can do it for 1 and 2 too on the wiper stalk. all does different stuff.
