i have a N reg obd2 vr, only had it a week and has had starting problems, (needed a battery lol)

but the last two days it starts then cuts out straight away and i can only get a quick rev in before it cuts out.

i took the plugs out today and they were soaken wet of petrol and the leads are shot. so will this cause it to start then cut straight out?

cheers in advance

right, i have done a service, plugs, ht leads oil etc. and it still starts then cuts straight out. :(

i think its the imobliser because i did disconnect the battery for a few days and i think i splashed water in it when i topped the expantion tank up. but the central locking works if a battery is on.

it starts up then afta it revs up it cuts out

your car still has the arch kit on showing by your pic so u could have the change over loom on yours what i mean is on some n reg vr6s u will still have the obd1 manifold engine loom and throttle body and isv but inside the car the rest of the loom is obd2 so u have the reader and immboliser this was the swap over period from obd1 to obd2 not all n reg vr6s r like that but i had one that was like it and sparks had the same in his mk 2 when he convertered and took everything off a n reg vr6 so could be immobiliser but could be isv sorry if it sounds confusing

i had an auto-electrian out the other day who removed the aftamarket alarm system and put a fault finder on. he said that the factory fitted immobilser on the ECU has turned it self back on and i either need to buy a new ECU, transponder, key etc or take it to a speacialist......now apparently stealth and c2 motorsport can do this.

and DUB 25 i sort of know what u are saying, the engine is obd2, acording to the guide thing on this forum how to tell which 1 it is. but i still dnt reli have a clue lol, and what is and isv? all i know is that its obd2 on a N reg hahah

cheers
