Dragon Dave 1
Very occasionally, when the car is under load in low revs, like pulling away from a speed bump below 2k revs, the car grumbles, like it's not firing on all six, then after a couple of seconds it backfires and then it's fine after that. The car runs very well 99% of the time just occasionally I get this problem or sometimes it's just a single misfire in the low revs.First I changed the plugs and leads, I used the plugs that were recommended on this site and I got some leads recommended by the local parts shop and the problem was still there. I searched on this site and found many misfiring problems and the coilpack seemed to be an obvious thing to look at next. My coilpack had a couple of cracks in it so I got a new one from VW and I still have the same problem. What else can I try? I have read something in another post about cleaning the MAF sensor, I don't know where this is, or how to clean it but if someone could tell me what to do I can give it a go, I know I need to get it on Vagcom, is there someone in the Milton Keynes area that can do vagcom? LiamD 0
i have exactly the same problem now, and have had similar before, it was the coilpack.I've sorted another one to buy on Thursday and try out then I think I may try an 034 motorsport coilpack if they work, as VW ones seem crap! Dragon Dave 1
Surely it can't still be my coilpack? It's brand new from VW. I got a brand new one 'cos I didn't want to mess around trying second hand ones, It cost me £185 so I will very disappointed if it is the problem.
MaidenVR6 26
Start with a Vag Com search first. Then change your fuel filter.

You may not be geting the write mixture all the time and dubs are common as muck for that! Also mine is doing the same and i put it on the scanner to check the readings and yep thats it, try that??
