So today I managed to get stuck in with fitting the rest of the interior, Front door cards all fitted with new door card clips, Next up was to remove the existing dashboard To make way for this,

As some members already are aware I had a very special interior lined up which I collected on Friday. I took the long drive up to Dunfermline to pick this cargo up which ended up in a 1200 mile round

Just to keep this alive, not many updates to speak of other than it's running superb, Attended ultimate dubs back in March and took the trip over to Dubshed in April, here's a few pics from the past

Thanks for the comments guys, Still trying to decide whether to leave the plastic arches on or off and go with smooth side strips and highline bumpers but worried it will lose its character of one of the earliest models if i do this..

Either way i need to decide before it goes for paint, Whats peoples thoughts on this? arches on or off? :)

Had a few parts arrive By courier today and picked up a new splitter from a Local vw specialist whilst i was over there, Also Visited a local firm who are going to make me up some 8mm id braided fuel hose to suit the car with pro clamp fittings so they took there measurements today and should be complete after the weekend,

Only problem i have now is im still waiting on my coilovers, Camber bolts and shims to arrive and all of this needs fitting before i lose the car to the bodyshop on Wednesday on the hope its all complete for Ultimate dubs....Fun times,

Pic of the German plates and number plate surrounds that i fitted the other week, Just need a set of Legal pressed plates aswell for road use. (Sorry for the poor quality)

Awaiting a few more goodies which should all be on in time and hopefully get chance to send it in for a treatment with my local autoglym specialist (owns a very nice original mk2 rallye i have my eye on) Loves his vw's,

Whilst all this is happening this is my ride for the next few weeks, I hardly ever use it these days....I think it needs an engine transplant for the summer ;)

Fk coilovers, Eibach front camber bolts and camber shims for the rear.

The instructions for the shims are rather interesting to say the least...

Also had a minor bombshell at work today, Got a phonecall from the bodyshop that was due to be doing the painting on the car advising that when i take it down there Tomorrow it now wouldnt be back and ready in time for ud as previously organised :@ , So I very politely told them they wouldnt be getting my custom and found a bodyshop recommended from a couple of members on here that will do the work as of next monday and have it back in a shorter timescale. So the plans for the rest of the week are to fit the stack of parts and crack on with the list of jobs thats growing ;)

Hi m8 where did you get your alloy strut caps from?

Hi m8, I had a few of them laying around in the garage, They are actually Caps from the tops of manequins.. . My old employment were getting rid of them so i spotted a new use for the caps with a pilot hole and grub screw..works a treat ;)

So over the weekend i had some additional helpers over to strip the old suspension and fit the new coilovers, Despite the heavy rain on Saturday we cracked on and it was complete mid afternoon,

Still need to take the wheels off and pressure wash the arches then paint them and clean up everything under there whilst making some final adjustments on the height and fit the rear brakes.

All this has to wait tho as I dropped it at the bodyshop earlier on today.....Roll on Fiday ;)
