nedlands 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Report Share Posted January 10, 2005 I'm having a problem with my VR6 which hopefully someone can help with.Around 3 days ago I went to start the car and accidentally triggered the alarm. After disarming it the car wouldn't start - it turned over fine with all the dash lights on etc. but wouldn't fire. I left it overnight and then it eventually started and ran OK. On Saturday however it did the same thing and only started again yesterday lunch time so I put it in my garage in case it was damp. When i went out this morning it refused to start again - seriously getting upset now.The car had a new coilpack fitted around 2 weeks ago and I an unsure whether it is that or if the factory immobiliser is refusing to go out - it certainly seems to be electrical due tothe sporadic nature of the failure - does anyone have any ideas before I call the RAC and get them to tow it to a garage??CheersNEAL Link to post Share on other sites

shail 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Report Share Posted January 10, 2005 I had this a while ago. The earth strap on the starter motor was perished, so was making a contact only on occasion. Its a braided strap on the top of the starter. I replaced mine with a home made bodge using a halfords earth strap and a cuple of clips. Link to post Share on other sites
