Player No.1 0
Yo guys, A friend of mine has just had a schrick fitted to his VR (2.8) We thought we'd have a little race to see any difference it made, and err... mine won! Rightfully unimpressed there must be something up with the manifold system right? Really just looking for any problems anyone else may have experienced, to be honest, it seemed like he was getting the jump on me through the first half of the rev range but then come 4k I started pulling away, this lead us to think maybe the flap isn't switching over? Having looked at the mechanism the lever seems to be moving freely, any ideas would be much appreciated.
cabrioman 6
does the flap open when u rev it to the set point ????
xyber 1
Air leak? Other undiagnosed problem?Mine pinked alot when I fitted it, but mine was charged aswell. I got another remap to make the most of it and it was fine
craggsy 91
Schrick inlet wont make it any quicker........will just make it pull better further down the rev range. They make the car ideal for cruising
Player No.1 0
Yeah... He aint gonna like that!Is it fair to say then there are no power gains to be had from the schrick? Sorry if this sounds like a really ignorant question but I always thought they added power
craggsy 91
It adds a little bit of bhp but a good chunk of torque
xyber 1
here's the difference, the bottom graph is with the schrick fitted and with the big torque increase early, the dip in the middle is the flap switching which looks bad their, so we changed the switching point 100rpm lower and it smoothed things out
